#KimbiaGives for #GivingTuesday
The online fundraising platform supports #GivingTuesday campaigns as its employees give back.
AUSTIN, TX (Dec. 1, 2015) – Kimbia is thrilled to participate again in the fourth annual #GivingTuesday event, a global day dedicated to giving back held today, December 1, 2015.
Kimbia, an innovator in online fundraising and crowdfunding events, began promoting #GivingTuesday earlier this year with a webinar series focused on giving nonprofits a low-risk path to achieving fundraising success on #GivingTuesday without draining their resources or budgets. In an effort to help companies participate quickly and easily, the company also offered special discounts and packages dedicated to the giving day.
This year, several Kimbia customers are launching exciting #GivingTuesday campaigns. As an example, the Arthritis Foundation is hosting its 2nd annual giving event and the Children’s Hunger Fund is running a peer-to-peer campaign designed to spread awareness and generate funds through its thousands of supporters and volunteers.
“Having Kimbia as our resource throughout this whole process made our fundraising more seamless and easy to manage,” said Morgan Owen, director of special events at Children’s Hunger Fund. “We’re hoping that with this #GivingTuesday peer-to-peer campaign, we will achieve our goal of raising enough money to send 200,000 meals to children in need.”
In addition to customers’ specialized #GivingTuesday events, Kimbia will be supporting over 19,000 customers as they fundraise online Dec. 1st. In addition to offering industry-leading security and scalability to ensure excellent donor experiences, it will be all hands on deck at Kimbia as teams support customers participating in #GivingTuesday.
Kimbia employees are also geared up to take part in the #GivingTuesday festivities for a #KimbiaGives campaign through #iGiveLocal. Every employee is receiving a $25 gift card, which will be used to make a donation to a local organization of their choice on #GivingTuesday. To follow Kimbia employee donations, check the #iGiveLocal and #KimbiaGives hashtags on Twitter.
“With #GivingTuesday we saw a great opportunity for employees to participate by encouraging them to give to local causes in the spirit of Give Local America,” said Dan Gillett, CEO of Kimbia. “Building awareness and supporting causes that impact people’s lives has become a part of the Kimbia culture, and this year we are excited to enable our employees to give to causes close to their hearts.”
#GivingTuesday is a global movement dedicated to creating a national day of giving – fueled by the power of social media and collaboration – at the beginning of the holiday season. #GivingTuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season (Black Friday and Cyber Monday).
