Give Local America, the largest, single-day charitable crowdfunding event ever, celebrated the 100th anniversary of community foundations in the United States and the vital role they play in philanthropy and, specifically, local philanthropy. The goal was to generate significant philanthropy outside of the traditional giving season with a focus on supporting local communities and local organizations. Give Local America serves as a catalyst to reignite the spirit of local philanthropy here at home. Over 7,700 nonprofits shared the great work of their organization, gained new supporters and raised funds for their mission through these giving events.
As the organizer of Give Local America, Kimbia’s team lived and breathed Give Local America for the last 24 months. We couldn’t be happier with the results and more blown away by America’s generosity.
“What you all did today was truly amazing. Thank you so much for your partnership, support and for the incredible generosity you unleashed in each of your communities. You all showed what it really means to Give Local America,” said Lori Finch, VP of Community Foundations when thanking all of the community foundations that participated in the event.
